The Occupational Therapy Partnership

Housing Providers

OTP provides a fully managed OT service to Eastlight Community Homes (Previously Greenfields). This has been a very successful project that provides Eastlight tenants with a fast, direct and effective service. We are able to provide a service to approx. 10-20 tenants a week and we routinely progress major adaptations (including level access shower facilities) to completion within 10 -12 weeks of the initial referral.

OTP also provides assessments for various Housing departments; Private Sector Housing departments and Housing Associations for the progression of major adaptations with or without Disabled Facilities Grants

OTP Occupational therapists each have a minimum of 25 years experience of working with housing providers including:

Annette reports: “from my earliest experience of developing housing options for Adults with Learning disabilities and mental health problems leaving residential hospital environments in 1992 as an OT assistant  through to and beyond 1996 when I was employed as The Housing OT for London borough of Enfield. Throughout my OT career I have been responsible for recommending housing adaptations to Housing departments; housing associations and private sector housing depts. Over the years, I have been able to develop close working relationships with contractors and housing officers with regard to these adaptations as well as organising training for housing staff and other occupational therapy staff in the area of housing adaptations and housing needs.

I have extensive experience of participating in and chairing OT Housing Adaptations Panels; Quality Assurance Panels and Commissioning Teams that critique the OT process and provision / design of major adaptations within Essex and some of the London Boroughs.

My post graduate diploma from The Royal Architectural Association qualifies me to carry out full access audits in residential and commercial property; public buildings as well as new housing & other developments. I have worked with The Housing Corporation on a number of new build “homes for life” schemes and various housing associations on new build developments (Habinteg; Metropolitan Housing; Anchor Trust; Aldwick Housing; Lee Housing Association; Christian Action; Broxbourne Housing association & Hanover Housing) as well as providing OT assessment for tenants in many others”.
